Katzenberg and CEO Meg Whitman have pitched the mobile-based service as quick entertainment for viewers on the go.
It’s called your smartphone,” Whitman said in Ten minutes here, 15 minutes there, where you want to see something great. That content will take three forms: Movies in Chapters exactly what it sounds like ; short unscripted series and documentaries; and Daily Essentials, news and lifestyle programming in quick-bite form. And lest anyone remain skeptical, the service already has a raft of A-list talent lined up for various projects, with shows expected to launch in Quibi’s first year.
